Employment Engineer (Contract Position) - US Navy/ Marine Corps - Millington, TN

11/2002 – Current

            Worked on the staging and deployment of 2100  Microsoft Windows 2000 pc's. Joined all systems to the LAN, setup printers, migrated data via peer-to-peer networks,  and worked on hardware issues as they occurred.

Support/ Engineer (Went Out of Business) - Freeliant, Inc. - Memphis, TN

6/2001 – 2/2002

            Supported (internal and external) local applications and Citrix-published applications including Microsoft Office 2000/XP, ACT, Goldmine, Exchange 2000 and a number of other proprietary applications, as well as Microsoft Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT4 Workstation and Server / 2000 Professional, Server, and Advanced Server / XP Professional. Performed administrative tasks on an NT4/2000/XP hybrid network of about 2000 users, performed backups and maintenance of a Windows 2000 Advanced Server / ARCserve 2000 Advanced Edition storage area network, calculated and recorded network statistics, monitored network operations center, and worked with HP Openview, DNS, WINS, DHCP, and Active Directory. Worked on an in-house Windows XP rollout.

            Supported Ship Manager API and FXRS software, Windows 95 / 98 / ME / 2000 Professional and Server, MS Office 97 / 2000, Vantive (Nexus), Outlook Express, pcAnywhere, Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat Reader, IBM 3270, and Netscape Communicator and set up new users for the FedEx API program. Also held training classes for Microsoft NT 4 Server.

            Beta tested and developed of RBS’ proprietary data backup program, user setup and administration, developed help files, installed hardware/software, Windows operating systems (and operating system upgrades), set up dual-boot systems, and administered a NT 4 / 2000 hybrid LAN. Also worked with DNS, WINS, DHCP, Active Directory, and TCP/IP. Worked on an in-house Windows 2000 rollout.

            Monitored calls for quality assurance, supported pc peripheral components, peer-to-peer networks, installed / supported hardware and various Windows operating systems. Also supported all preinstalled software for pc’s, as well as small network administration and local staff management. Frequently upgraded Microsoft operating systems and pc hardware.
